'Bitcoin Jesus' indicted on tax evasion charges

Roger K. Ver was arrested in Spain over the weekend, accused of not filing tax returns for the sale of assets.

An indictment was unsealed Monday accusing Roger K. Ver, an early Bitcoin investor, of mail fraud, filing false tax returns and evading payment of nearly $50 million in taxes.

Ver, a former Santa Clara resident, was arrested in Spain over the weekend and the United States is seeking his extradition, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement.
