Tom Stark took it hard when his wife fell for another man and moved out of their home in Contra Costa County. He wept often, lost weight, couldn't sleep and talked of suicide.
      Stark eventually shot his wife's lover to death during a heated confrontation. He never denied the killing but claimed his mind was unbalanced.
