New Wave of School Exit Exams Undermines Real Education

Arnold Schwarzenegger signed SB 517, a bill that will allow thousands of students with disabilities in the high school class of 2006 to graduate without passing the California High School Exit Examination. As of 1999, all high school students in California are required to take the exit exam, covering math and language arts, and get at least 50 percent of the questions correct.
