Freedom for Security Is Too High a Price
Letter to the Editor - The Bush regime's recent public relations campaign justifying the secret wiretaps of international calls and e-mail is just one more assault on civil liberties and other rights that has been justified by the so-called war against terrorism. Rather than admit that wiretapping without warrants is out of bounds, the administration has gone on the offensive and is making a concerted effort to justify its actions by making reference to the commander-in-chief's "inherent powers."
