Gordon Ringer, Judge Who Heard High-Profile Trials, Dies at Age 69

Retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gordon Ringer, who sat on the criminal courts bench for a quarter-century, presiding over such high-profile cases as the burglary of Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist and the prosecution of Manson family member Leslie Van Houten, died Saturday from complications of emphysema.
