Nonunionized employees now have the right, upon request, to have a co-worker representative present during disciplinary Weingarten meetings, thanks to the National Labor Relations Board's July 10 ruling that Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act affords that right. The decision, which reverses longstanding NLRB precedent, is a significant extension of NLRB regulation to a nonunion setting.
