I read with much interest the article by Sharon Djemal, Luke Diamond and Ted Mermin in the Daily Journal of Oct. 9 titled, "Garnished wages: a remedy gone wrong."

While I agree that everyone should be entitled to due process before a judgment is entered against them, the garnishment provisions of our state laws must remain. Without garnishment, creditors would be denied any reasonable ability to recover money that is due...
