CEQA invoked in case challenging pot law

In an unusual argument, a medical marijuana advocacy group today will try to convince a judge to overturn a county ordinance limiting dispensaries, contending its restrictions violate the California Environmental Quality Act.

RIVERSIDE - The California Environmental Quality Act is mostly used as a tool to determine the environmental impact of a development. But in an unusual legal argument that's gaining momentum, a medical marijuana advocacy group today will try to convince a San Bernardino County judge to overturn a county ordinance limiting dispensaries by contending its restrictions run afoul of CEQA.
