Legislators’ budget spells more trouble for judiciary

SACRAMENTO - State legislators unveiled their plan for the judiciary's budget Tuesday, and the overall number is the same: a $544 million cut to the branch. But the legislators' plan softens some of the most contentious aspects of Gov. Jerry Brown's budget proposal while adding a few whoppers of their own.
