Court takes no action on La Jolla cross

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that fired federal workers can't sue the government , took a double jeopardy case, reversed a habeas ruling and didn't act on a petition involving a memorial cross in Southern California.



Mount Soledad cross case on hold


The U.S. Supreme Court took no action Monday on a request to take up the constitutionality of the 43-foot cross marking a federal veterans' memorial atop Mount Soledad in La Jolla.


The court relisted the case for its private conference on Thursday, setting up the possibility it will announce next Monday whether it will take the case.
