Wal-Mart plaintiffs face skeptical judge in gender bias class action

U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer seemed unpersuaded Friday that the plaintiffs suing Wal-Mart in a downsized gender bias class action have amended their complaint adequately in light of a high court ruling.

SAN FRANCISCO - Trying to revive an epic Wal-Mart Stores Inc. gender bias class action after the U.S. Supreme Court spiked it last year, plaintiffs' lawyers argued Friday they had successfully tailored a fresh complaint that passes high court muster.


But Senior U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer of San Francisco was unpersuaded as he opened a hearing on Wal-Mart's motion to dismiss the case....
