State finance director outlines major shift for court finances

Local trial court judges and court executive officers warned the budget cuts - and the loss of local reserves - will handicap their ability to function.

SACRAMENTO - At an emergency meeting of the Judicial Council Thursday, State Department of Finance Director Ana Matosantos outlined a major shift in how trial courts will operate, days after the governor proposed a half-billion-dollar budget cut to the branch.
