Film Companies Fall Into Bankruptcy

The Halcyon Co., producer of "Terminator Salvation," was among the most notable film-industry companies to file for bankruptcy in recent years. Insolvency and entertainment lawyers said it's probably not the last. Lawyers blame the tough economy, piracy, weak DVD sales and risky financing from hedge funds as factors in Hollywood's hangover.

The Halcyon Co., which produced "Terminator Salvation," and its subsidiaries filed for Chapter 11 protection in August, blaming its money woes on predatory lending and its own film-financing inexperience.
