Individuals who file for bankruptcy protection are more likely to end up hoofing it or taking the bus as a result of a court decision handed down Tuesday.

People who file for bankruptcy protection are now more likely to end up hoofing it or taking the bus, thanks to a federal appellate decision handed down Tuesday.

Revisions to the bankruptcy code four years ago ended debtors' ability to easily keep their cars while they work their way through the bankruptcy process, a divided 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel held.
