No Surprises In Slimmer State Budget

SACRAMENTO - Gov. Gray Davis, faced with a $12.5 billion budget shortfall, presented a proposed 2002-2003 budget Thursday that calls for $2.8 billion for the judicial branch, meaning there will be no new judgeships, no salary increases and no technology upgrades.
