Court Must Instruct Capital Jury on 'Life Without Parole'

WASHINGTON - Ordering the resentencing of a South Carolina death-row inmate, the Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled, 5-4, that whenever a prosecutor even implies that a capital defendant would be dangerous in the future, the jury must be told the defendant would be ineligible for parole under a life sentence.
