Jury sides with student in drug sting suit

A jury has ordered L.A. Unified School District to pay a 14-year-old more than $1 million after school officials sent him on a sting operation to buy marijuana from another student without informing his parents.

LOS ANGELES - A Superior Court jury has ordered Los Angeles Unified School District to pay the family of a student more than $1 million after school officials sent him on a sting operation to buy marijuana from another student.


The verdict came late Monday after one full day of deliberations.
