U.S. gay rights policy appeared to move further from the restrictive Defense of Marriage Act on Wednesday as a federal immigration judge in San Francisco postponed for two years a ruling on whether a gay Venezuelan man will be allowed to remain in the U.S. with his American citizen partner.
