Bill Giving State Power to Regulate Health Insurance Rate Hikes Passes Committee

The Health Committee in the California Senate voted 5-3 on Wednesday to forward a bill to the Senate Appropriations Committee that would give state regulators the power to approve, deny or modify "unreasonable" health insurance rate increases and offer consumers a means for challenging rate hikes.
