Out-of-state workers are covered by California's more generous overtime laws when they come here even temporarily on business, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
The ruling was unanimous and narrow, but employment defense lawyers said it could spark a firestorm of new wage-and-hour litigation that might broaden its scope.
