AG Looks Into Judge Benefits Law's Legality

Prompted by a request from the Commission on Judicial Performance, the attorney general's office is looking into the legality of a 2009 law allowing counties and trial courts to provide supplemental benefits to trial court judges.

SACRAMENTO - An unusual request for legal advice by the state Commission on Judicial Performance suggests the commission may consider pursuing action against judges who receive supplemental pay and benefits.
