Kramer Takes Over From Pollak on Complex Bench

SAN FRANCISCO -If you pass Judge Richard A. Kramer in a hallway, offer a kind word. His life has suddenly become a lot more complicated. Kramer has taken over San Francisco's complex litigation department - a pilot program sponsored by the state Judicial Council that assigns complicated cases to a single judge from inception to disposition. The point is to resolve cases more efficiently by having judges aggressively steer the pretrial procedure.
