FTC votes to go ahead with children's protection rule

The Federal Trade Commission unanimously voted this week to move forward with implementation of a rule further restricting the ability of app, website and game designers to collect information from users under the age of 13.

The Federal Trade Commission unanimously voted this week to move forward with implementation of a rule further restricting the ability of app, website and game designers to collect information from users under the age of 13.


The Monday vote retains the July 1 deadline for implementation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule.
