CEQA reform effort tries to appease business interests

Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg said Friday he will seek to placate businesses by amending his bill to reform the California Environmental Quality Act.

Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, said Friday he will seek to placate business interests by amending his bill to reform the California Environmental Quality Act.


However, Jennifer Hernandez of the business-backed CEQA Working Group said the bill will still increase developers' odds of facing frivolous lawsuits.
