The first criminal trial to arise out of Broadcom's options scandal jumped to a venomous start Friday morning, with lawyers trading charges of lying.

SANTA ANA - The first criminal trial to arise out of Broadcom's stock options scandal got off to a venomous start Friday morning when a federal prosecutor repeatedly called the former chief financial officer a liar during his nearly two-hour opening statement.
