Bills would aid workers for whom immigration status is used as blackmail

Two bills aimed at protecting immigrants in light of workplace abuses were unanimously approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday.

A bill to prevent employers from retaliating against employees living in the country illegally by threatening to report them to immigration officials after they complain about workplace abuses received unanimous support at the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday.
