Club deals on the out and out

The news last month that the Blackstone Group joined with Insight Ventures Partners and Francisco Partners to submit a bid in excess of $25 billion on Dell Inc. may have unearthed memories from 2006, when colossal multi-buyer "club deals" dominated the private equity market.
