Court Texts Become National Obsession

The U.S. Supreme Court struck a blow for literacy Tuesday night. As television correspondents, wire services and commentators struggled to determine exactly what the court had decided in George W. Bush v. Albert Gore Jr, it became clear to me that this year's hyperlitigated presidential election will once again turn this country into a nation of readers.
