Latest incarnation of Bratz dolls case will go on

A Los Angeles judge denied a motion by Mattel to dismiss a trade secrets lawsuit by MGA Entertainment. The two are involved in a long-running fight over their dolls.

A decadelong trade secret dispute over dolls will continue.


Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Amy Hogue denied Thursday a motion by Mattel Inc. to dismiss a lawsuit by MGA Entertainment Inc. that claims Mattel representatives secretly gathered at MGA meetings and stole company trade secrets.


Mattel wanted to dismiss the case on the grounds that a federal judge had already thrown out MGA's lawsuit.
