Court Hires More Minorities But Fewer Women as Clerks
WASHINGTON - Following protests at the U.S. Supreme Court urging the hiring of more minority law school graduates for prestigious clerkships, the number of minority clerks has grown to seven of this year's class of 35, or 20 percent, while women have sunk to holding just 29 percent of the coveted posts.
