San Diego Prosecutor Shakes Up Fraud Unit

Six months into her tenure, San Diego U.S. Attorney Laura E. Duffy has announced changes to her department that may satisfy critics who've questioned whether the career prosecutor has a plan to win major fraud cases.

SAN DIEGO - Not long after taking office last summer, U.S. Attorney Laura E. Duffy did some radical redecorating. She removed portraits of her predecessors that for decades hung in the 6th floor reception area of her office. In their place, she inscribed her mission statement in bold typeface, pledging "excellence in litigation" among other things.
