In a new effort to limit class actions in California, a Republican assemblyman proposed a bill this week that would give defendants the right to appeal if a state court grants class certification in lawsuits filed against them.
Assemblyman Brian Nestande, R-Palm Desert, said in a statement that the bill, AB 271, was necessary to make California more business friendly.
