A California egg farmer appealed to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last week in an ongoing effort to overturn a 2008 animal welfare ballot initiative.
The law, passed by state voters as Proposition 2, requires egg-laying hens and other farm animals be given enough room to lie down, stand up, fully extend their limbs and turn around freely.
