LOS ANGELES - The ACLU of Southern California has tapped the civil liberties organization's legal director, Hector Villagra, to be its executive director, the first time it has appointed a new head in nearly 40 years.
Villagra will take the reins in February upon the retirement of long-time executive director Ramona Ripston, and is the first Latino to lead the organization.
