More Time Now to Sue for Late Pay

Employees who are not paid on their last day have as long as three years to sue their former bosses for penalties, according to a mixed decision Thursday by the California Supreme Court.

Employees who quit or are fired have up to three years to sue their former bosses for late pay penalties, according to a mixed decision issued Thursday by the California Supreme Court. The decision extends the time frame to file suit to three times longer than previously held and brings clarity to a shadowy area of employment law, lawyers said.
