Owner of former Escondido C.C. faces lawsuit

The plaintiffs alleged that after the defendants purchased the Rancho Mirage Country Club in June, they engaged in "disingenuous negotiations" about keeping the golf course open.

A group of Rancho Mirage homeowners has sued the owner of the defunct Escondido Country Club and an associate, alleging they have a practice of bullying elderly homeowners and depressing their property values so they give up their rights to neighboring golf courses.

The lawsuit contends that Escondido Country Club owner Michael Schlesinger and attorney Ronald Richards, both of Beverly Hills, take that approach so they can pursue development of the golf course properties.
