Court affirms $1.6M judgment in business dispute

The case centered on a dispute involving John Sarkisian and Rudy Medina's real estate company, Del Mar Heritage, LLC, which developed and owned properties throughout San Diego.

The 4th District Court of Appeal has affirmed a $1.6 million fraud and breach of fiduciary duty judgment in favor of Rudy Medina in a dispute with his former business partner, San Diego businessman John Sarkisian.

A jury had originally awarded the funds to Medina after a three-week trial in 2012, five years after the initial complaint was filed by Sarkisian, the former CEO of Pat & Oscar's Restaurants and founder of Carlsbad-based sporting goods manufacturer SKLZ.
