Courts, labor confront uncertain future

The most recent numbers on the impact of budget cuts to the judicial branch don't appear likely to significantly affect labor negotiations and disputes over pending layoffs that are confronting courts and unions across the state.

The most recent numbers on the impact of budget cuts to trial courts don't appear likely to significantly affect labor negotiations and disputes over pending layoffs between courts and their workers' unions across the state.


Instead, the numbers - based on $385 million in cuts to trial courts - are a way for the parties to plan for ongoing discussions, those involved say.
