Redistricting maps face first challenge

A Republican-backed group announced Thursday it would file the first lawsuit challenging the new state Senate redistricting maps.

A Republican-backed group announced Thursday it would file the first lawsuit challenging the new state Senate redistricting maps.

Fairness & Accountability in Redistricting (FAIR) said it plans to file a writ of mandate in the state Supreme Court that will argue that maps created by the Citizens' Redistricting Commission are unconstitutional. FAIR is also gathering signatures for a voter referendum against the plan.
