Vernon settles with convicted former official

The city of Vernon has paid former official Donal O’Callaghan $500,000 to settle an employment contract dispute.

The city of Vernon has paid former official Donal O'Callaghan $500,000 to settle an employment contract dispute.

O'Callaghan was put on leave last year from his post as director of the city's power department after he was found to have played a role in securing a city contract for his wife. Last month he pleaded guilty to felony corruption charges.
