Law clerks not entitled to overtime pay

Law clerks who haven't yet passed the bar exam aren't entitled to overtime pay, the 1st District Court of Appeal ruled Wednesday.

Law clerks who haven't yet passed the bar exam aren't entitled to overtime pay, the 1st District Court of Appeal ruled Wednesday.

The court rejected the appeal of Matthew Zelasko-Barrett, who claimed the Novato asbestos litigation firm of Brayton-Purcell LLP should have paid him overtime for the nearly two years he worked there after graduating from law school but before passing the bar.
