State court officials have quietly dropped a proposal that would have made it easier to televise trials.
After intense criticism from judges last year, the Judicial Council's Bench-Bar-Media committee abandoned its idea to change the presumption from banning cameras from the courtroom to allowing them, unless there's reason to exclude them.
