Complex courts don't keep the fees they generate

While cash-strapped San Francisco County Superior Court's decision to close its complex litigation departments has surprised some, the fees they collect don't go straight to the court

San Francisco County Superior Court's decision to shutter its fee-generating complex litigation departments during a tough budget year at first seemed counter-intuitive to some members of the bar.


But it turns out the departments aren't money makers - at least not for San Francisco.
