After 30 years of inactivity, a relic from San Francisco's past will be restored and brought up to code.

The new San Francisco Centre will conjoin the Market Street Mall with its now dormant neighbor, the Emporium building.

Scheduled to break ground this fall at 835 Market St., the 1.5 million square-foot urban retail center is to be one of the largest in the country.
