Special Master Rips CDC for Evasive Stance In Rights Case

SAN FRANCISCO - The director of California's prison system, Edward Alameida, dropped three inquiries into alleged perjury by Pelican Bay guards in March, then allegedly misled a federal judge by creating an investigative report to justify shutting down the inquiries, a federally appointed court monitor contended Thursday.
