Federal courts in California consolidate space to save costs

After decades working out of San Francisco's Financial District, the bankruptcy court is moving in with the district court, magistrates and much of the federal judiciary in the Northern District.

After decades working out of San Francisco's Financial District, the bankruptcy court is moving in with the district court, magistrates and much of the federal judiciary in the Northern District.


The move to the Phillip Burton Federal Building at 450 Golden Gate in the Tenderloin two miles away is part of a nationwide effort to cut costs by reducing the space used by the federal judiciary.
