Ruling on sex offender ordinance will stand

The state Supreme Court won't review a lower court's ruling that struck down a law barring sex criminals from entering parks without permission from the police.

The state Supreme Court won't review a lower court's ruling that struck down a law barring sex offenders from entering parks without permission from the police.

The Orange County ordinance, which went into effect in 2011, made it a misdemeanor for sex offenders to enter a park, beach or public recreational facility without explicit permission from law enforcement. Violators faced a $500 fine or six months in jail.
