AG agents layoffs could impact local departments

The California attorney general's office is looking to lay off more than 200 special agents, employee union officials said - a move that could lead to the elimination of two key investigative bureaus.

SACRAMENTO - The California attorney general's office is looking to lay off more than 200 special agents, employee union officials said - a move that could lead to the elimination of two key investigative bureaus.


The layoffs are the first effort by Attorney General Kamala Harris' office to enact a $71 million budget cut ordered by the governor earlier this year.
