Panel strikes down Long Beach's marijuana regulations

A state appellate court Tuesday struck down local regulations governing the operation of marijuana collectives in the city of Long Beach.

In a case being closely watched by medical marijuana advocates, a state appellate court Tuesday struck down local regulations governing the operation of marijuana collectives in the city of Long Beach.

The 2nd District Court of Appeal said the regulations are pre-empted by federal law, which makes it a crime to possess or grow marijuana.
