Supreme Court examines mixed bag of 9th Circuit cases

The U.S. Supreme Court kicks off its new term today reviewing a decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, but that should come as no great surprise given 42 percent of the docket is from that appeals court.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court kicks off its new term today by reviewing a decision from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, but that should come as no surprise, given the composition of the court's docket. Twenty of the 48 cases granted thus far - 42 percent of the docket - come from the 9th Circuit, pushing the court's famous focus on the San Francisco-based appeals court to new levels.
